I was just wondering if you'd ever tried and of the Fordham line:

www.fordhambrewing.com

Or Boulevard- the local brewing company here in Kansas City:

http://www.boulevard.com

I've never been much of a beer drinker, but I have been trying to expand my horizons a little bit. Especially after discovering the joy of the "build your own 6 pack" liquor store, ensuring you don't get stuck with 5 1/2 bottles of a beer you don't like. I like Corona, which I think isn't too coincidental, as its one of the first beers I ever tried that wasn't part of the major US brewing companies. I know its pretty big by itself, but even my uncultured tongue is aware of what the gist of this article states:

http://www.chud.com/articles/articles/22743/1/MOVIE-OF-THE-DAY-BEER-WARS/Page1.html

Fordham was one of my favorites, but after I moved away from MD back to KS I worry that if I ever get a chance to have another, my palate will have shifted and I won't enjoy it as much. Has this ever happened to you?

And to conclude- I think the appeal of finding your personal favorite beer is much the same as music- maybe you can enjoy the most popular bands that get the radio airplay, but you never know what gems you might find if you wander off the beaten path. I did it with music, and I'm trying to do it with beer.

PS- I am also a BGH listener, and occasional caller.

You're not the first person I've heard make the peepee comparison haha. Wish I could say I don't get it but yeah I can see where you're coming from. Try my hardest not to think of it though and I can usually block it out and think of hops.

Glad You liked this one Joe, I've been trying to get behind the exit series, really want the state to represent well. With the few breweries we have that make great beer. But, I couldn't even drink this one. The smell of cat piss(urine) in the aroma, just made me want to run and cry! That smell is my kryptonite, like nails on a chalk board. So, as you might have guessed I wasn't a fan.

As far as the exit series goes, looking forward to trying exit 6, but exit 4 has been my favorite.

Nice write-up Joe. I'd say the most awesome thing about the Exit 16 is how easy going it is for such a delicious beer. This is def. an inpressive brew and highlights the capabilities of Flying Fish as a brewery
